Wooden Fraction Circle Raised Puzzle – Set of 2

Specially designed for toddlers ages 2–3, this set of raised wooden puzzles introduces early fraction concepts through hands-on exploration. Children grasp and place the large circle insets, building fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, concentration, and independence—ideal for Montessori-inspired learning at home or in the classroom.

The Equivalent Figure Material is an important component of the Montessori educational approach, designed to introduce children to the concept of equivalence that leads to the discovery of area and theorems.

By manipulating the pieces and observing their relationships, children can discover that shapes with different sizes can still be considered equivalent. This understanding lays the foundation for later mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions.

The Equivalent Figure Material consists of 13 green metal frames with bottoms and red insets.

Leveled puzzle cards teach parts of a whole, equivalencies, common denominators, and multiples.

Each Fraction Pie Puzzle is a puzzle and a conceptual fraction lesson, all rolled into a fun activity.

Select a card, place the starting pieces, and then complete the circles with the remaining fraction pie pieces. Will one-third solve the puzzle? What about 2 one-sixths?

This kinesthetic way to reinforce basic fraction concepts teaches children how fractional parts make up a whole and about equivalencies, common denominators and multiples.

Leveled from easy to difficult and self-correcting, the puzzles are perfect as a small group or center activity. It's an entertaining way for children to challenge their brain and understand fractions.

When playing with this material, children develop concepts in quantity recognition, more-than and less-than relationships, simple combinations of numbers, as well as fundamentals of addition and subtraction.

The game has different levels of complexity, making it possible for the children to develop skills in a series of steps. The Apple Tree Game can be played by two or more players.

The simplest game begins by placing all the apples on the tree. Each player takes turns throwing a die and removing the required number of apples from the tree, until all apples are removed.

The Decimal Fraction Material is used for the introduction of decimal number formation and for performing the operations of addition, subtraction and multiplication with decimal and whole numbers.
