Elementary Negative Snake Game
The Elementary Negative Snake Game is an advanced Montessori mathematics material that helps children develop a concrete understanding of positive and negative numbers. By arranging and counting colored bead bars, students learn how numbers combine, transform, and balance along the number line.
This material is introduced in the Lower Elementary classroom (ages 6–9), guiding children from concrete operations toward abstract mathematical thinking. With colored beads, black and white bead bars, and number tiles, students practice addition and subtraction involving both positive and negative integers.
