Workbook 5 reviews concepts taught in previous Primary Phonics workbooks and introduces additional vowel combinations, the qu combination, the three sounds of y, and special sounds and patterns for the letter a (i.e., water, ball, and palm).

It also teaches the long vowel at the end of a syllable found in such words as, be, we, so, and no.

Workbook 4 reviews the sounds learned in earlier workbooks continuing to practice of plural forms, compound words and two-syllable words.

 The activities are combine fun illustrations to match with words and colors.

Workbook 3 reviews the sounds learned in earlier workbooks, and introduces a variety of new concepts.

Matching, fill-in-the-blank, sentence practice, word order, and other exercises are used to help teach children primary phonics.

Workbook 2 reviews the sounds learned in earlier workbooks and introduces the long vowels a, i, o, u and the vowel digraphs ie, oe, ee, oa, ai, ea.

The activities are similar to those used to teach short vowels in Workbook 1, except that four-letter words with silent e and four-letter words with vowel digraphs are included.

Discrimination between sounds is emphasized.
