In order to maintain the child’s interest in reading in a purposeful way, Maria Montessori introduced grammar at the phonetic reading stage. Each time a new part of speech is introduced it is done through playing a lively game with children!
Farm Game 1 – Phonetic is specifically designed to support children in the early Montessori language curriculum, helping them identify parts of speech through play and hands-on interaction.
Our unique Phonetic Farm Game includes:
• Miniature phonetic objects such as pig, man, duck, dog, cat, and piglet — perfect for developing phonetic awareness.
• One black heading card (3½” x 1½”) labeled Noun and six small black cards (3” x 1½”) with phonetic noun names.
• Six small red cards (3” x 1½”) with phonetic verbs, and a red heading card labeled Verb.
• Six small blue cards (3” x 1½”) with phonetic adjectives, plus a blue heading card labeled Adjective.
• Six white cards (3” x 1½”) for articles, with a white heading card labeled Article.
• One large clear plastic box (4 ½” x 3 ½” x 1 ½”) for objects. Four small clear plastic boxes (3 ½” x 2 ½” x 1 ½”) for cards.
• One black plastic tray (11” x 7½”).
All items are professionally sculpted and hand-painted. The miniature objects range in size from 1.5” to 3”.
Cards are fully laminated to withstand frequent use in Montessori preschool or homeschool environments.
This is an excellent Montessori material for teaching grammar, enhancing both reading readiness and vocabulary development.
