Montessori Language & Math Material for Sensorial Tracing

This wooden tracing set provides children with a tactile and visual introduction to letters, numbers, and math symbols, following Montessori principles of concrete-to-abstract learning.

Each board features engraved characters that can be traced with the fingers or a wooden stylus, helping children internalize the shape and directionality through muscle memory. A small dot in the lower-right corner guides proper orientation.

This preliminary exercise, sorting by color, is a chance to perfect an isolated skill.

Before children approach more complex activities, they must first master the basics.

One square ceramic dish (2.75”x 2.75”), one 3-compartment dish (6”x 2.5”), six ceramic beads, and a small size tray (10”x 7”).

Sorting with Small Beads and Tongs is a classic Montessori Preliminary Exercise that helps children refine their fine motor coordination and develop the pincer grip — an essential foundation for writing and other daily tasks.

Children love using tongs to transfer shiny beads from one bowl to another. This simple, purposeful activity encourages concentration, careful movement, and independence. Each repetition strengthens hand muscles and coordination while offering a sense of calm and accomplishment.

The Small Square Root Board is used by the children to build squares and to extract square roots.
